When it comes to travel accommodations, I have high standards. My stay at Relais Circo Massimo blew my expectations out of the water. First off, Elena and her staff did a great job communicating with me prior and during my booking. They always responded promptly and there was never a language barrier as you sometimes have with international travel. They provided me with all of the information I needed to make my arrival comfortable. During my trip to Italy, I stayed at six different properties that were booked through Booking.com. Circo Maximo was by far the best of the bunch. The property is located in a nice part of Rome. And a quiet part of the city which is a feat in itself in such a bustling city. Despite the neighborhood, it’s still in a prime location: a short walk to the Roman ruins. And also three minutes or so by foot to get to the Metro and bus station. I’m a light sleeper so quite accommodations are big in my book. The apartment is also secure. There’s a gate that you have to open using a code that’s given to you. And then a different code to open the front door. And finally, keys to enter your apartment. This provides a nice sense of security. With all of this being said, the beauty is in the details. They had everything you need in the apartment and then some. The bed is comfortable. They provided hand towels (only one other property out of the six I stayed at offered this amenity). There’s a mini fridge in the room. They provided you with helpful information through a letter that was printed out and provided upon check-in. They have hand lotion (the only one out of the six to do so). They provided a generous number of complimentary snacks and soft drinks/beer. There’s also a nice garden where you can hang out. Talk about providing all of the amenities you need and then some! If all of this wasn’t enough, Elena was proactive in helping me out. She knew I was planning to travel by bus to get to The Vatican.

Everything was amazing. Elena reached out a couple of days before our arrival with all the instructions, we did the check in after noon, so even when they weren't available to receive us personally we had all the steps to do our check in and the morning after were able to meet Elena who went above and beyond, giving us an umbrella because it was raining and we didn't have one. The room is equipped with everything you'll need, the beds are super comfortable and it was very clean, like a new bedroom clean. The location is perfect, we arrived from Termini in the subway. Also, if you just want to get lost in the city you just need to go out and start walking, I assure you will be able to find amazing things to do within walking distance. Thank you for everything, hope to visit again soon!

Elena and Alaksandra were so friendly and accommodating. I have never been to Rome before and Elena took time to go through a map and show me all the best spots to go, additional to the usual tourist attractions. She showed me all the best authentic Italian restaurants, where the locals like going, and I had the best tiramisu of my life at one of the places she recommended. The hotel itself was spotless, so clean you could eat off the floor. Very comfortable bed and quality pillows. Location was great, walking distance to colosseum and nearby attractions and steps from public transport that would take you directly to Vatican City or other, further away sites. Could not recommend this place more.

The owner was very helpful with my questions beforehand. They can arrange airport or train station transfers for you--just ask. All the directions, such as getting into the apartment, were very clear and worked perfectly. There is a kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and stove top, but no oven. I saw a rose garden (Roseto Comunale) nearby that I think is within walking distance, which would be nice place to visit in spring and summer evenings. The neighborhood looks pleasanter than where I had stayed earlier in Rome. It is very near the Circo Massimo Metro station, and if you don't have much luggage, you can walk from the metro station to the apartment.

Extremely clean apartment on the ground floor of an apartment house. Very friendly and helpful receptionists, great communication before, during and after the stay. Efficient heating in the winter period. Sufficiently equipped kitchen and bathroom. Excellent location in short walking distance from metro Circo Massimo, 10 minutes walk to Forum Romanum, 15 minutes walk to Colosseum. Window facing a quiet inner yard with orange trees. Excellent feeling of security. Good wifi. We would come again!
